We’re delighted that Writers Tax has been shortlisted in two categories at the Accounting Excellence Awards 2026:

🏆 Small Firm of the Year

🏆 Client Service Award

The Accounting Excellence Awards are widely regarded as the UK’s most prestigious accountancy awards, so to be recognised alongside some fantastic firms from across the profession is a huge honour.

We’ll probably celebrate by making a cup of tea and reminding each other to put the bins out.

Being shortlisted for Small Firm of the Year is particularly pleasing because Writers Tax has never tried to become the biggest accountancy firm. We’ve always wanted to build the best practice we could for writers. A practice where every client deals directly with us and where expertise matters more than headcount.

The Client Service Award means just as much.

One of the things we wrote in our entry was:

“We want our clients to spend their time writing, not worrying about tax.”

Everything we do is built around that idea. If clients feel supported, reassured and confident enough to contact us before a problem becomes a crisis, then we know we’re doing our job.

Finally, a huge thank you to our clients.

Many of the ideas in our award entries came directly from conversations with you, and several of the judges’ supporting quotes came from the generous feedback you gave us during our recent client survey.

Whether we bring home a trophy in September or not, being shortlisted in both categories feels like a wonderful recognition of the practice we’ve spent the last few years building.
